IVESCO Technical Service

thumbnail Our Technical Service Staff is among the most highly trained in the animal health industry. We have two staff entomologists and rodent control experts to help our integrator customers maintain their Integrated Pest Management programs. We also have technical staff with backgrounds in pathology, toxicology, and two water chemistry experts to assist our customers in developing effective production solutions. IVESCO also offers biosecurity program assistance in cooperation with DuPont Animal Health Solutions.

ITS Staff:

Robert Rowland (Masters Degree in Entomology from the University of Florida)

Robert designs complete integrated pest management (IPM) programs for our integrator customers in the swine, poultry, dairy, and beef sectors. Through insect collection and laboratory analysis at IVESCO’s entomology laboratory, we can help our customers identify resistant insect populations (i.e., litter beetles, flies, roaches, mites) and build an auditable, effective rotation program to treat current insects and prevent future problems related to resistance. This same principle of product rotation applies to IVESCO’s rodenticide program, allowing producers to effectively prevent rodent infestation and bait shyness.

Robert also provides continued training to our sales and customer base, providing them with the most current programs, techniques, equipment and products to optimize animal health and performance by reducing exposure to and bottom line impact of pests.

Chris Sartor (Masters Degree in Avian Disease and Health from the University of Arkansas)

Chris’ emphasis on total animal health through preventative products focuses on food pathogen control, boosting immunity, and prevention of disease outbreak through application of biocides in the animal environment. Through a growing arsenal of probiotics, liquid and powder bedding amendments, drying agents, antimicrobials, and litter/manure odor and ammonia control, Chris can help design a preventative program and help audit the performance of those products for increased performance and control of disease causing microbes.

Chris can also help design and implement alternative control strategies for vector population reduction utilizing organic and organic-based prevention methods, further adding value to growers and producers.

Jesse McCoy (Integrated Science & Technology Degree from James Madison University)

Jesse brings ten years of experience in drinking and wastewater treatment, in addition to managing water resources and quality for live animal integrator operations, to IVESCO’s Technical Services team. He has consulted with major integrator farm, hatchery, and processing water facilities, and has managed a full service research laboratory validating new chemical technologies and filtration/separation techniques for water treatment. His combination of practical field experience at environmental and production facilities, coupled with his knowledge and industry outreach in regulatory issues facing animal production and feeding operations, provides an outstanding platform to provide technical consulting to our customers.

Jesse can assist in setting up a cost-effective water analysis trial, providing the basis for both establishment of a water treatment program and a mechanism to measure performance of that system through annual or semiannual water quality survey(s).

Scott McKenzie (Ph.D. Toxicology, B.S. Biomedical Science, B.S. Animal Science – Texas A&M University)

Scott brings a production agriculture background, management history at Cargill and Texas A&M University, and product/technology development skill sets to the technical services team at IVESCO. Through his patented research and development efforts in process development, disinfection, decontamination and detoxification, Dr. McKenzie has escorted a number of university and private sector agricultural innovations into the marketplace. His technical background in chemistry, biology and agriculture, coupled with business management of technology portfolios and supervision/design of practical field trials for chemicals and devices, has further positioned IVESCO to be a unique conduit for new and emerging innovations in animal health.

Scott can, under a joint development agreement and with our integrator partners, assist technical entrepreneurs and established companies in their efforts to collect critical, repeatable animal data for water treatment, preventative health management, cleaning and disinfection, and approved small molecule launch into insecticide/rodenticide markets.
